Webinar: Changing the Language & Coverage of Addiction

This webinar will discuss the role the media plays in the perception of addiction and the need for the media accurately and fairly cover addiction through language, point-of-view, and style. It will cover the shame and stigma that surrounds addiction, that keeps far too many from seeking the treatment they need. Additionally, the webinar will discuss the recent changes made to the AP Style Book about the word “addict” and other stigmatizing words. This webinar is ideal for all members of the media/press.
